These three paintings remind me of the journey that Huck Finn and Jim go on in The Adventrues of Huckleberry Finn. These paintings represent to me the serenity of the river as their journey continues on. It shows me the parts of the book that focus on peace and calm. The river embraces what Jim and Huck have created, an unlikely friendship. The river carries them along on a long path towards either freedom or towards a place where family troubles are no longer present. Either way the river acts as their guardian and to me these three paintings allow the river to be the central focus and depict the river as a strong but serene place.
